Sing Out Against Poverty – Faith Alliance Event ; Volunteers needed for setup and teardown

Churches comes together for Sept. 24 music festival in West Chester

Update on the Event:

Saturday, September 24, 2016 marked the first Sing Out Against Poverty, Annual Faith Alliance Music Festival at The Square at Union Centre. Five bands from the Faith Alliance church partners performed Christian praise music and free kids’ activities, food and beverages were offered in the spirit of Christ to 150-200 attendees. The goal was to raise awareness for local poverty and funding for Faith Alliance Programs and Outreach ministries which help those in need. Leftover food and baked goods were donated to Stepping Forward Dinners, WC Presbyterian Community Suppers, Reach Out Lakota and Hope In Action, a street ministry for homeless individuals.  Hundreds of individuals struggling with poverty or homelessness were blessed with food from this event. Praise God!

The event raised $4,000 in proceeds which will be used to support Faith Alliance Outreach Ministries and Programs such as: Feed our Neighbors in Need Food Drive, Summer Lunch Ministry, Summer Lunch Literacy Program, and Help a Child in Need Succeed Backpack Ministry. Special thanks to our bands, sponsors, church liaisons, volunteers, and all our donors who offered food and support.

A special shoot out to these major sponsors:

The Tate Family – Gold;  Hillandale Family of Communities – Silver; UCBMA & Shelter Logic – Bronze;  Jimmy John’s Union Centre  –  Food; and West Chester Liberty Lifestyle Publishing – Media.
