Stepping Forward Tuesday Night Dinners & Getting Ahead Program at Faith Community United Methodist Church
Since it’s inception in 2011, the Faith Alliance church partners have supported a collaborative outreach called Stepping Forward
Tuesday Night Community Dinners which also began in 2011. The free dinner is hosted every Tuesday night, year-round, at Faith Community UMC on Cox Road in West Chester. Most Faith Alliance church
Every Tuesday night – Stepping Forward includes:
- Free Community Dinner • 6-7 pm
- Free Job and Life Skills classes • 7-8:30 pm (see list below)
- Free ESL Classes for all adults, all levels • 7-8:30 pm
- Referrals to needed services • 6:30-8:00 pm
- Homework Room and fun activities for the Kids • 6:30-8:00 pm
Food Pantry for qualified families living in the Lakota School District • 6:30-8 pm
2. West Chester Presbyterian Community Suppers – Monday Nights
Eleven years ago, West Chester Presbyterian Church members began serving free meals on Monday nights to anyone in our community. 3. Queen City Kitchen; Soup Kitchen
Our work helps insure that the areas low income, homeless, and working poor people are provided with a hot, home-cooked meal.
Over the Rhine – We prepare, cook and serve lunch on the 4th Saturday of every month.

How can I help?
Be a volunteer! Families are encouraged to help out and children have to be able to work independently. Tasks: Meal preparation, cooking and serving cafeteria style.
Over the Rhine – we need minimum of 8 volunteers. We start cooking at 9 a.m. to serve at noon to 1 p.m.
4. IHN programs
Family Promise of Butler County began it’s Interfaith Hospitality Network Program(IHN), an Endorsed Program by the Faith Alliance, in September 2016. In that short time, they have served several local homeless families with seven of our own Church Partners as Hosting Congregations plus even more of our Church Partners as

Feed Our Neighbors in Need Food Drive
The 5th Annual Faith Alliance “Feed our Neighbors in Need” Food Drive surpassed their goal of 25,000 pounds and collected more than 26,300 pounds of food to feed our hungry neighbors. 17 local congregations in the Lakota area participated during one weekend in March. Habitat for Humanity X-days

The 5th Annual X days brought the Faith Alliance Church Partners together in April to show the love of God and be the “eXternal” church by serving their neighbors. Faith Alliance partnered for the first time with Habitat of Humanity of Greater Cincinnati for their main group X days project.

Help Every Child In Need Succeed
Volunteer – collect school supplies throughout the year. This program is partnered with Reach Out Lak
The 2017 Faith Alliance Help a Child in Need Succeed Backpack Ministry supporting Reach out Lakota’s Back to School Program was another wonderful success! Nine Faith Alliance churches partnered to collect backpacks and school supplies for low-income children at Reach Out Lakota.
The results from the Faith Alliance Churches were:
- More than 450 children sponsored with school supplies and backpacks
- More than $14,000 of school supplies donated
- More than $10,000 in backpacks and miscellaneous supplies donated
“Your (Faith Alliance) collaboration played a vital role in helping us to meet our goal to ensure that all children in the Lakota School District begin the school year with the tools needed to succeed.
The majority of our distributed items(over 90%) came from members of the Faith Alliance!We certainly couldn’t succeed without the many hands and hearts like yours that are dedicated to helping our community.”

Summer Literacy Program
On July 14, 2017, a group of 25 students and teachers from the Faith Alliance Summer Lunch Reading Program, celebrated the end of their 6-week program by visiting Fiona, the newest addition at the Cincinnati Zoo! The kids had a wonderful (and educational!) time! They had plenty of pizza

Summer Lunch Ministries
August 9th marked the last day of our Summer Lunch ministry at 7 local sites around Lakota. With the help of our friends from the Lakota Food Bus, we were able to serve more children than ever this year. 13,533 meals were served with love to on average 271 children
The Summer Lunch Program in Lakota has been around for close to 10 years now and started as a ministry of local churches in partnership with the BC Success liaisons who work with struggling families at our schools. Now the program is

Whiz Kids – Literacy Program sponsored by City Gospel Mission
Whiz Kids is a literacy-based, one-to-one tutoring and mentoring program that has been recognized as a “Best Practice Program” by the Ohio Governor’s office. We work closely with local churches and organizations as they embrace a neighborhood public elementary school, develop relationships with school administrators, and provide tutors for the children. Sing Out Against Poverty Music Festival
An estimated 500 attendees of all ages came out to the 2nd Annual “Sing Out Against Poverty” Music Festival presented by Faith Alliance on Saturday, September 30th at The Square at Union Centre. C3 Empty Bowls Event
C3, The Caring Community Collaborative, at Liberty Center’s Sabin Hall, as they present the Third Annual West Chester Liberty Empty Bowls fundraiser to benefit hunger in our community. Proceeds will go to Reach Out Lakota and the Faith Alliance Summer Lunch Program. We hope you will join hands to address the needs of those who are struggling with food insufficiency in our community.
