“Being Gentle with our Words” (Proverbs 15:1, 4; 25:15) Sunday, July 8, 2017
Call to Worship
L: God has given us the gift of speech.
P: Therefore let us speak words of life!
L: God has entrusted us to use this gift wisely.
P: With care, therefore, let us encourage one another!
U: Let our voices join with every creature lifting praises to God on high!
Scripture (Proverbs 15:1, 4; 25:15)
Our reading comes from the book of Proverbs.
1A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
4A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
15With patience a ruler may be persuaded, and a soft tongue can break bones.
Here ends our reading. May God bless our understanding.
