Refugee Welcome Baskets – for fellow neighbors in Cincinnati

The women’s Bible study will be collecting items for kitchen and bedroom welcome baskets for refugees resettled in our area.  These baskets will help refugees begin to start a home here.  You can sign up for item(s) to donate here:  https://signup.com/go/hymzdmE  All items should be new and in original packaging.  Please bring your items to the church by Sunday, October 27.

The welcome baskets are requested by and will be donated to Catholic Charities Southwest Ohio.  Catholic Charities is the only agency serving refugees who are resettled in Greater Cincinnati.  Through the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the U.S. Department of State, Catholic Charities resettles about 200 refugees a year in Cincinnati.  More than 12,000 refugees have been resettled by Catholic Charities in this community since 1980.   The refugees most often come from Bhutan and the Congo, as well as Burundi, Iraq, Eritrea, and Sudan.  More information can be found at https://www.ccswoh.org/services/refugees/
